CHRIS Cornes described winger Liam Lockett as 'ridiculous' after his two goals gave Worcester City a 2-0 win over Pershore Town on Tuesday night.
Lockett scored twice in the final five minutes of the first-half to give City a commanding 2-0 lead at the break.
The hosts had numerous chances to extend that lead in the second period but in the end it was a comfortable victory in front of over 900 at Claines Lane, which is a new record for a City game at the venue.
It was a complete performance across the board from Cornes' men but Lockett will rightly get the headlines.
"He has been brilliant (on Lockett)," added Cornes. "Because we are so good in central midfield, we can get him on the ball a lot more.
"We had a good chat in training and we have worked on some stuff with him and the difference in his game now compared to a couple of weeks ago is amazing. He comes inside and looks for the ball instead of just hugging the touchline
"He's become more complete and now he's added the goals to his game, he's been ridiculously good.
"I was going to give him a right good talking to at half-time after missing that early chance he had before he went and scored twice!
"He was fantastic, Izak Reid was a constant threat, he should have scored and he's fuming about that.
"Gater (Connor) and Dinsley (Calvin) are Rolls Royces in the middle of the park and the back four, who maybe rode their luck a little at times, but they dealt with it and it's another clean sheet.
"I would love to see the stats from how many passes our back four and central midfield two made - they were so good on the ball and always managed to play themselves out of trouble - that's something I'm very happy with."
The result lifted City up into fourth in the Hellenic League Premier Division ahead of Saturday's clash with Thornbury Town at home.
"The only disappointment is that we didn't score more, it should have been five or six and we really left some goals out there," Cornes added.
"It's one of those where if we concede a flukey goal in the last 10 minutes, it changes the makeup of the game but if we take those chances we can go and kill the game off earlier.
"But it was a great performance against a very good side and again it was a clean sheet in front of a huge crowd, I couldn't be happier really."
