TUESDAY evening will see two of the in-form sides in the Hellenic League Premier go head-to-head as Worcester City welcome unbeaten Pershore Town to Claines Lane.
Pershore sit fourth in the table and have taken 11 points from a possible 15 to begin their impressive 2023/24 campaign so far.
Having drawn their opener with Worcester Raiders, they have won three of their four league games and they put five past Hereford Pegasus in their last outing in a commanding 5-1 victory.
In their first season back at Step 5 following last season's promotion, Lewis Marston has hit the ground running as manager, taking over from Danny Janes.
The Plums have excelled in the early weeks of the campaign and will make the trip to Claines full of confidence that they can claim another scalp.
As for City, they are in decent form themselves having won their last three in all competitions, including last week's Worcester Derby with Raiders in front of over 2400 people at Sixways.
Chris Cornes' men then came from behind to beat Sherwood Colliery 2-1 in the FA Cup. Kyle Belmonte came off the bench to score both, including an 88th-minute winner.
City remain one of the title favourites in the division, but Pershore have done nothing to suggest they cannot mount a charge themselves.
But Tuesday night will provide both sides with arguably their toughest challenge yet and a win for either side will act as a huge psychological boost.
