WORCESTERSHIRE have added young seam bowler Ben Allison to their squad for the rest of the 2023 season.
Allison will link-up with Worcestershire for the final three games of the LV=Insurance County Championship season, starting with Sunday's home game against Glamorgan.
The 23-year-old seamer has taken 42 wickets across all formats in his short career to date.
Worcestershire Head Coach Alan Richardson said: "We’re delighted to have Ben join us for the rest of the season. He’s a talented young bowler who has already shown his potential at Essex.
"He’s a good fit for our bowling attack, and I’m sure he’ll be a valuable asset to the team.
"Ben is a tall, right-arm bowler who bowls with pace and seam. He’s also a good fielder and has a great attitude, and someone we believe can make a real impact as we look to achieve promotion."
Worcestershire go into the final stage of the County Championship campaign with promotion very much on the cards.
They currently occupy second spot behind Durham in the Division Two table, but have the likes of Glamorgan, Sussex and even Leicestershire breathing down their necks.
It is likely that three wins will be required to secure second spot and Worcestershire fans will be hoping Allison can come in and give them the extra boost they need to do just that.
