IT was an afternoon to remember for Bewdley Town at the weekend as they sealed their progression in the FA Cup in emphatic fashion.
Ben Worthington scored a hat-trick, whilst there were also goals for Ethan Tivey (2), Aon Abbas and Tyrese Segree in the comprehensive win for Bewdley.
Remarkably, the hosts fell behind inside 60 seconds when Brian Farrell scored but three goals in 28 minutes from Bewdley - two from Worthington and one for Tivey - as well as a red card for Daventry, saw the game flipped on its head.
The goals continued to come in the second-half as Segree got a fourth before Worthington grabbed his hat-trick after Zacorie Allen had pulled one back.
Tivey and Daventry's Alvin Magagada exchanged goals within a minute of each other to see the score reach 6-3. Abbas then wrapped up the huge win late on to book their place in the Preliminary round, where they will face Hinckley LR away from home.
As for Stourport Swifts, they too reached the next round of the FA Cup thanks to a 2-0 win over Coventry Sphinx.
Lee Chilton's brilliant free-kick in the first-half was added to by Aaron Birch in the second-half to see Swifts through to the Preliminary round of the competition, where they will face the winner of this week's replay between Hanley Town and Hereford Pegasus.
