YOUNG Worcester boxer Caitlyn Wise is bringing home a bronze medal from the European Junior Championships in Romania.
The Worcester City ABC fighter was beaten in her semi-final by Ukranian Taisiia Pokusai in the Under 52KG category by unanimous decision.
But despite her defeat, she will return home with a medal for Team England.
Club members were watching on from home and said this after her defeat: "We have a European Bronze Medalist! Well done Caitlyn.
"Unfortunately Caitlyn Wise lost in the semi-finals of the European Championships but she has done her city and country so proud.
"Caitlyn will have learnt so much from the championship to take forward for her next championship in the future. Well done Caitlyn, we are so proud of you!"
There will be an element of disappointment from Wise, who is an ambitious boxer and has high expectations of herself.
But in her first-ever European Championships for her country, she will take a great deal from her experience.
She beat Greek boxer Lamprini Giannakopoulou in the quarter-final, a result which ended up securing herself a medal.
