DROITWICH Spa put five past Hereford Pegasus at the weekend as they continue to fire in the goals in pre-season.
The Saltmen, fresh off scoring five at Worcester City on Tuesday night, romped to a convincing 5-2 win against Step 5 Pegasus, a team that finished in the top 10 of the Hellenic Premier (one level above Droitwich) last season.
It took 25 minutes for Droitwich to score their first, but once Connor Collins found the opener, they did not look back in what turned out to be a devastating spell toward the end of the half.
Charlie Tilley made it two before Jack Brighton and Perry Moss scored in quick succession in injury time to see the visitors go into the break 4-0 up.
Moss added a fifth mid-way through the second period as The Saltmen hit five for the second game running.
Pegasus did grab two consolation goals to make the scoreboard look a little more favourable, but there was no doubting which of the two sides were better on the day.
The five goals scored means The Saltmen have now bagged 20 goals in July, with 18 of those coming in their last three matches (8-0 vs Littleton, 5-5 vs Worcester City and 5-2 vs Hereford Pegasus).
The new Midland League Football (Division One) campaign begins on August 5 when they make the trip to Hinckley AFC.
