WORCESTER Raiders' manager Karl Gormley has spoken of the pride he has felt during pre-season after their seventh straight win on Saturday.
Raiders' Jordan Murphy struck late in the game to beat West Bromwich Albion U21s at Sixways to make it a perfect seven wins from seven in pre-season for Gormley's men.

And with the Hellenic League Premier opener now just a week away (August 1) away at local rivals Pershore Town, Raiders could not be going into the new campaign in better form.
"It’s pre-season so the results don’t mean so much but it’s a seventh win in seven and against the sort of opposition we have had, a lot of credit has to be given to the lads,” said Gormley.
"Halesowen, Redditch, Westbury, West Brom, it’s a massive achievement. We won't look into it too much, we told them (the players) to keep their feet on the ground but they have been a great credit to the club this month.
"We are very proud. We knew it would be hard work against a quality West Brom side and we knew we had to outwork them and we did but we have done so against all the top sides we have played; we were the same against both Redditch and Halesowen.
"The work rate this early in the year has been phenomenal, they have put a real shift in so I am very proud of them."
As Gormley touched on, pre-season results ultimately mean very little but the performances will fill both him, the rest of the coaching staff and supporters with a huge amount of encouragement.
But focus is now, and has always been, on Pershore next Tuesday (19.45 pm kick-off).
"Winning games is a good habit, no matter who the opponents are. But the key for us is to keep that going into the league now," he added.
"Everything we have been doing this month has all been aimed at that Pershore game, that’s when it really matters.
"We have a couple not available for that first game for one reason or another but everyone is fit and injury free at least and we will be as ready as we can be for the opener."
