THE preparations for the new football season continue this weekend and there are some stand-out games for the likes of Worcester Raiders and Evesham United.
Raiders will be hoping to continue their unbeaten summer run when they welcome West Bromwich Albion U21s to Sixways, whilst Evesham United welcome a Coventry City XI to the Spiers & Hartwell Stadium.
Karl Gormley's Raiders have won all six of their pre-season matches so far and beat their third Southern League opponents of the summer on Tuesday night when they edged Redditch United 3-2.
That came after previous wins over Halesowen Town and Westbury United but the young West Brom side will most likely be a step up from what they have already faced.
Tickets for the match are £8 for adults, £3 for under 16s and concessions.
As for Evesham, they have had an encouraging July so far. They lost their opener to Cheltenham Town 4-2, before a 1-1 draw with Bromsgrove Sporting and a 2-0 win over Easington Sports in their latest contest.
But a squad of players from Championship side Coventry will most likely prove to be their toughest challenge yet. Tickets are priced at £5 for adults and £3 for concessions.
Elsewhere, Stourport Swifts also have a tasty-looking friendly as National League side Kidderminster Harriers come to town and Malvern Town host Stourbridge FC at the HDAnywhere Community Stadium.
As for the Southern League Premier Central sides; Redditch United host Gloucester City and Bromsgrove Sporting are at home to Highgate United.
Pershore Town are in action on Friday night as they make the trip to Bishops Cleeve.
