WORCESTER City Amateur Boxing Club's Caitlyn Wise will this week make the trip to Romania with the rest of Team England to compete at the EUBC European Junior Championships.
Wise, 16, is the current National female champion and she will compete for her county over the next two weeks as part of a 20-strong Team England squad out in Ploiesti, Romania. She will take part in the under-52-kilo category.
The club posted on Facebook, saying: "WORCESTER! The final preps are done! She is ready and waiting to let her fists go!
"In the next few days Caitlyn Wise and the rest of the England team will be flying out to compete in one of the world's toughest competitions in the European Championships. She's in the best possible hands of the Nationals coaches.
"Caitlyn you are already a champion in Worcester City's eyes and we all know what you are capable of. So go smash this championship!
"Good Luck Caitlyn and Team England. The City and the Country are all behind you and all believe in you!"
Worcester City coaches Shaun Finn and Mick Underwood have been a big part of Wise's boxing career since she arrived at the club aged 11.
He has seen her flourish as a boxer and will watch on ringside over the next two weeks with pride as she goes for gold in Romania.
"I have known her since she was 10 and she is very dedicated to her sport, she doesn't cut any corners, she trains hard six days a week and she is always in the gym.
"The Europeans is the biggest tournament in her career so far. She is very confident and positive, she wants to go there and win the gold medal, that's her ambition and that is how she will approach it."
Wise is showing all the signs of going on to a successful boxing career and the former 'Golden Girl' winner - a prestigious boxing competition - will hopefully kick on and chase even bigger honors.
The Worcester boxer is now officially in the England Junior Boxing Squad and Finn is hoping that, in years to come, she will go on to represent Team GB.
"This is only the start for Caitlyn. In terms of her future, next year she starts her youth career, which she will do for two years before progressing into the senior ranks," he added.
"And then after that, who knows what she could go on and do but I believe she can go on and get a place in the Team GB squad."
