The club released the following statement: "Danny Janes has taken the decision to complete his master’s degree to further his career and needs to allocate time to complete his studies.
"Danny will continue to help with the club’s coaching strategy, scouting and the cementing of "The Plums" football philosophy to ensure it’s continued success on and off the field.
"The committee players and supporters want to thank Danny for two tremendous seasons (five trophies so far with one to play for) and look forward to his continued input into the football club."
Even if he does continue in the background, his influence in the every day running of the first team will no doubt be a huge blow to the football club.
Janes had recently stated that he was preparing the team for life at Step 5 and was targetting winning the Hellenic League Premier next season. But in a shock turn of events, he will now step back from his role.
Pershore play in their Smedley Crooke Memorial Cup semi-final on Tuesday, where they will hope to move a step closer to a second treble in consecutive seasons.
