IT has been a brilliant start to the new year for Worcestershire's Josh Tongue and that continued this week as he was picked to play in this year's The Hundred.
Tongue will link up with Worcestershire team-mate and fellow pace bowler Mitchell Stanley at the Manchester Originals for the competition that begins later this year.
Tongue returned to fitness at the back end of last season after recovering from a shoulder problem, and this winter picked up 12 wickets in two matches for England Lions in Sri Lanka.
A total of four Worcestershire players will be participating in The Hundred this summer.
Batter Adam Hose will be back with the Northern Superchargers after a successful first season in 2022.
Amongst his teammates at the Superchargers will be Worcestershire Rapids 2023 Vitality Blast signing Michael Bracewell.
The third edition of The Hundred will be staged from August 1 to August 27.
