UPON his return to Halesowen Town, manager Paul Smith has moved to sign Worcester Raiders' Brogan Halpin for their promotion push at Step 4.
The midfield maestro has been a mainstay in Raiders' engine room duringย the 2022/23 season and has helped Karl Gormley's side to what looks like a third-place finish in their first season at Step 5.

We can confirm that Brogan Halpin has left the club to join @halesowentownfc.
Brogan has been outstanding throughout this season and absolutely deserves his move up the pyramid.#WeAreRaiders | #UTR pic.twitter.com/pykq2fI7o3
But his performances have attracted eyes from higher up the non-league pyramid and Halesowen boss Smith, who was announced as the manager for a second stint earlier this week, has opted to bring Halpin into his squad as they look to gain promotion into Step 3.ย
The Yeltz have lost three of their last five in the Northern Premier League Division One and sit second in the table, nine points off league leaders Stamford.
So it looks likely they will be competing in the post-season play-offs, just as they did in the 2021/22 campaign, and Halpin has been brought in for the run-in.
The man who helped bring Halpin to Raiders last summer was former Littleton boss Tyrone Henderson, who was last month sacked as assistant manager by Raiders, and he was one of plentyย to praise Halpin'sย move on Twitter.ย
Great move for him ๐๐ป

Danny Scheppel, who was sacked alongside Henderson by Raiders last month, also said:ย
Well done Brogan. Great move for you. Well deserved and good luck. ๐๐ป

Current Raiders keeper Ryan Young, like many, agreed this is a move that Halpin thoroughly deserves.ย
Top player and even better lad, deserves the opportunity. Will slot straight in at that level ๐๐ป
