THE U14 King's Worcester netball squad ended the year as the sixth-best side in the country, as well as reaching the cup final last Sunday.
The team played a game around every 15 minutes and played in 10 matches on Sunday to gain their place in the Cup Final at the England Netball Schools National Finals, which they eventually lost.
But it was an incredibly gutsy performance from King's and they can hold their heads high having competed with the very best.
Miss Ormandy said: "I am incredibly proud of the whole squad's effort, with all 10 members of the squad contributing at every level of the competition.
"To finish 2nd in the Cup competition and 6th out of the whole country is an outstanding achievement and the girls really grew into the competition adapting their play to suit the short and punchy 14-minute matches."
The girls won over 18 games on the journey to finals day, winning all three of their district round matches, all five of their county matches and 6/7 matches at regionals. Nationals saw them take four wins and two draws against the top netball schools in the country as they ended the season as the sixth-best side.
It also means they finished as the highest ranked team in the Midlands.
