E Worcester horse will feature at the Cheltenham Festival this week when Captain Tom Cat runs on Thursday afternoon.
The eight-year-old horse is trained by Worcester trainer Dr Richard Newland at his Droitwich-based yard and will run in the 16:10 Magners Plate Handicap Chase on Thursday at odds of 40/1.
Captain Tom Cat is also one of Deva Racing's, Worcester-based syndicate, many horses and director Ryan Tongue cannot wait to see him run on Thursday.
"He has been a great horse for Deva Racing. A £6,000 purchase three years ago and he has won seven races including a Grade 2. He has won a total of £75K in prize money in the three years we have had him.
"He has been a fantastic horse and the owners are thrilled to have had many great days out thanks to his ability. We have been to Cheltenham and Aintree and won. He has been a revelation and he has many great days to come.
"He has won races all around the country and we can't wait to see what he can do this year."
He will be up against 26 horses in the race (as it stands) with the Emmett Mullins horse So Scottish the 10/3 favourite.
