EDINBURGH Rugby have confirmed that former Worcester Warriors director of rugby Steve Diamond will join the Scottish club as Lead Rugby Consultant.
Having been linked to the job in the last few days, the United Rugby Championship side have now made it official and Diamond will join for the remainder of the season on a short-term deal.
The press release from Edinburgh made it clear that this is a temporary appointment and that a permanent one will be made in the summer.
In his goodbye message to Worcester fans on Twitter, Diamond said:

Diamond will link up with ex-Warriors winger Duhan van der Merwe who moved north to Scotland following the financial collapse at Sixways back in September.
On his move, Diamond said: "From the outside looking in, Edinburgh Rugby is a club on the rise. The talent is there, the fanbase is there, while there seems to be a brilliant buzz around the city with the team moving into its new home.
"I’m really looking forward to linking up with Mike [Blair], the coaching staff and the players next week. There are still some massive games to come for the club, including a Heineken Champions Cup Round of 16 tie at Welford Road. We have a really exciting challenge ahead of us and it’s one I’m relishing."
The 55-year-old will be fondly remembered by those at Worcester for what he did during his short time with the club, but also how he handled the administration process.
Diamond was also part of a consortium that tried to buy Warriors out of administration, but his bid was rejected by the administrators in favour of now soon-to-be owners, Atlas (directed by Jim O'Toole and James Sandford).
