IT has been another testing few days for all involved at Worcester Raiders.
Following last week's seemingly positive news that Sixways had been brought out of administration by new owners, Atlas Worcester Warriors RFC Ltd, the fears of their future have returned.
On Thursday, February 9, it was revealed by Atlas, that they have plans for a major shake-up at Sixways, the current home of Raiders.
The plan is to bring local side Stourbridge RFC to Sixways, rename them 'Sixways Rugby' and recruit former Worcester players into the side to get them through the national leagues and into the Championship by 2026.
It was a story that has sent shock waves throughout the rugby community, let alone the city of Worcester.
But in other developments off the pitch, the suggestion is that Wasps will move to Sixways and play their home games from the stadium next season.
That is where the worry stems from for those involved with Raiders.
Owner Jim O'Toole hinted that both Raiders and maybe even the Worcester Warriors Women sides could be out of a place to play at the end of the current season.
"Worcester Warriors (Women) and Worcester Raiders will see out the season at Sixways," added O'Toole.
"But we believe we need another tenant and are in talks."
If Wasps do come, all of a sudden, it all looks a bit of a squeeze at Sixways.
Raiders' chairman Steve Harris is believed to be extremely concerned by the developments in the last 48 hours.
There are real concerns that they, as well as the Warriors Women, may struggle to find a new home next season.
Raiders have a crucial clash with second-placed Cribbs in the Hellenic League Premier to try and focus on in all of this.
A win would put them back in the promotion conversation, but with next season looking so uncertain, focussing on football remains a tough ask for all involved.
