Worcestershire duo Jack Haynes and Josh Tongue are soon set to make the trip to Sri Lanka with the England Lions for the two-test series.
Both have been undergoing fitness testing at the National Performance Centre, Loughborough with the rest of the squad before they fly out to Sri Lanka.
The pair are ready to taste international cricket for the first time and both will be hoping to make a big impact.
In the build up to the tour, Haynes has been open in his praise for his teammate Tongue, who he believes is one of "the best around" despite having his injury problems.
"I am so pleased for Josh. He’s had a horrible couple of years in terms of injuries and inability to play," said Haynes.
"But, when he is fit, there is no doubt he is one of the best bowlers around.
"It was brilliant to see him back playing for Worcestershire last August and September and now getting this recognition from the Lions as well.
"I know how difficult it has been for him, not being able to do any fitness work for long periods, let alone play any cricket and bowling.
"But Josh has worked incredibly hard to return to where he is now, and, fingers crossed, his injuries are now behind him.
"If you look at his record, when he plays, he tends to take wickets and causes real problems to batters."
The two tests will be played in January and February, before the pair will fly back in time for the start of the County Championship season.
