World number one Gerwyn Price came back from a set down to beat Bewdley's Luke Woodhouse 3-1 in the PDC World Darts Championship at Alexandra Palace.
England's Woodhouse averaged almost 105 as he took the opening set 3-1 but Price responded by winning the deciding fifth leg to take the second set.
The 2021 champion won the third set 3-1 and a wrapped up the final set 3-0.
Price will face Raymond van Barneveld in the third round.
Former champion Barneveld defeated England's Ryan Meikle to set-up the mouthwatering clash with the Welshman.
Dutchman Van Barneveld, 55, went behind as impressive Meikle won the first set with an average of 100. But Van Barneveld came back in the second, winning all three legs en route to a 3-1 victory.
As for Worcestershire's Woodhouse it was a mixture of emotions after the match, having threatened an upset early on.
On Twitter, he said: "Back home from London and my world championships done with.
"Some positives to take as always and definitely some stuff to work on. My composure definitely being one of them as disappointed I let the occasion get to me a little.
"Fingers crossed 2023 I come back stronger."
Woodhouse was competing in his fourth PDC World Championships and came through his opening round in comfortable fashion.
He defeated Ukrainian qualifier Vladyslav Omelchenko in straight sets to confirm the Second Round show-down with top seed Price.
