NEW Worcestershire CCC assistant coach Kadeer Ali has been appointed to be part of the England U19 tour of Australia in the new year.
Ali, who was named as the new assistant coach of Worcestershire in November, will take on the role of batting coach for the England tour down under.
He will link up with the Young Lions for a training camp in Dubai before the series begins in January and becomes the latest Worcestershire coach to receive international honours.
Alan Richardson, the new Head Coach at New Road, was part of the England coaching set-up for the 2021 Royal London Series versus Pakistan and the 2022 IT20 Series against the West Indies in the Caribbean.
And now Ali will get a taste of some international action with the latest crop of talented English cricketers.
"I’m really looking forward to working with some of the best players in the country in that Under-19s age group," said Ali.
"A fair number of our coaches at Worcestershire have had some England call-ups in recent years and I think that is a really good sign.
"The fact we are getting opportunities like that will help us as coaches to develop, working with different coaches also being able to go away and experience difference coaching abroad.
"It is only going to benefit the County and we will come back with those experiences and help the Worcestershire boys."
