THE penultimate round of Regional 2 West Midlands fixtures in 2022 kicks off this weekend with the battle for places at the top and bottom being keenly contested.
Worcester will be hoping to put an end to their awful run of form when the make the short trip to the still winless Droitwich.
Jonny Arr's men are on a run of six straight defeats in the league which has seen them dramatically drop off the top of the table.
Having won five of their first six, Worcester have dropped down to ninth place and are now closer to the bottom of the table than the top.
As for their hosts, they are still looking for their first win of the 2022/23 campaign but even at this stage of the season, they are already destined for relegation.
Elsewhere, second placed Malvern host third placed Walsall in what is easily the game of the weekend.
Both sit on 45 points and are just two off the league leaders Old Halesonians.
Malvern have won nine consecutive matches but have ridden their luck in previous weeks and will be tested to the limit by a Walsall side who themselves have won their last six.
The away side have also already beaten their opponents on Saturday, having thrashed them 42-0 at the beginning of the season.
League leaders Old Halesonians will know a win against Stratford Upon Avon could see them stretch their lead at the top as long as Malvern and Walsall take points off each other.
The rest of the top six - Ludlow and Hereford - both have matches against sides in the bottom half in Whitchurch and Wolverhampton respectively.
At the bottom, Evesham need to start picking up points if they are to avoid relegation.
The bottom two in each league at this level go down and Evesham are 14 off this weekend's opponents Crewe & Nantwich, so a win would give them some hope of staying up.
