SIXWAYS will play host to top-flight rugby for the first time since September this Sunday as Worcester Warriors Women welcome Sale Sharks Women in the Allianz Premier 15s (kick-off 1PM).
Having received funding from investors to continue playing, Warriors Women kicked off the new 2022/23 season last weekend in stunning style with a bonus-point win at Harlequins.
Now they return home for the first time since the club slipped into administration and the mood is, as you can expect, very high within the camp.
"The squad did fantastically well last weekend to take five points from it so we were thrilled with that," said attack coach Sian Moore.
"It's been a different week for us this week as it is a Sunday game so that changes things a little but I can't help but smile at the thought of us playing at Sixways.
"It's been such a turbulent three to four months for all involved with the club but Sunday is something as a group we have always worked towards.
"We have kept it at the front of our mind so to be back at Sixways on Sunday is going to be massive for everybody, not just for us but the whole club and the whole community as well.
"All the support we have had over the last couple of months has been fantastic so we are so looking forward to welcoming everybody back."
As has been mentioned, confidence should be sky high after last Saturday's win at the Twickenham Stoop and generally, this team are in great form this season.
Before the club were suspended following the administration, Worcester won both of their first Allianz Cup fixtures and have a record in 2022/23 of played four, won three.
Team news for the clash sees just one change from the win over Quins as fly-half from last week Abi Kershaw switches to full-back, with Sarah Nicholas coming into the 10 shirt.
Cat McNaney drops to the bench, which does include Welsh international forward Natalia John, who has returned to action after Rugby World Cup duty.
