RISING star Fin Smith was seen in training with England earlier this week, fuelling the suggestions Scotland will miss out on capping the fly-half star.
Smith has been in the middle of speculation surrounding England and Scotland, with Gregor Townsend very keen on selecting the former Warrior, who qualifies through a Scottish grandfather.
But Smith has represented England at U20 level and seemingly has hopes of playing for the senior squad.
Having joined Northampton Saints following the financial collapse at Worcester, Smith has been earning rave reviews from the rugby world for his performances.
And that seems to have been rewarded with some time in camp with the senior squad ahead of the final Autumn Nations Series match with South Africa at Twickenham on Saturday.
He was man of the match in Saints' win over Exeter Chiefs a couple of weeks ago and has filled admirably following the departure of Dan Biggar to France.
But Smith has returned to his club for the fixture with a Barbarians side this weekend.
Saints will lock horns with the world-famous invitational side for the first time ever on Saturday afternoon (kick-off: 3pm) at cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens.
The famous invitational outfit have some former Worcester members within the squad.
Murray McCallum, Owen Williams, Graham Kitchener and Gareth Simpson are in the Baa-Baas camp, as well as ex-scrum-half Francois Hougaard.
