STOURPORT Swifts are into the hat for the third round of the Isuzu FA Vase for the third consecutive year after goals from Lee Chilton and Jack Watts proved enough to beat Loughborough Students 2-1 on Saturday.
Striker Chilton and Ben Tilbury linked up for the first to see the former sweep one into the corner on the counter attack to make it 1-0.
Watts then continued to score goals on his return to the club with a brilliant finish into the top corner in the second-half to double the lead.
The Students pulled one back late on through Matt Bowman but it was nothing but a consolation in the end as the Swifts booked their place in round three.
The draw for the third round takes place on Monday November 14, with the ties to be played on the weekend of Saturday December 3.
The winning clubs in the third round will receive £1,125 and the losers £350.
Swifts pocketed £900 from their win on Saturday, taking their total prize money in the Vase so far this season to £1,725.
But above all else, it continues what has been a fantastic 2022/23 season for the Swifts.
Not only are they progressing in the Vase, they are sitting second in the Midland Football League Division after winning 10 of their 17 league matches so far.
They are currently on a five match winning run across all competitions and will be looking to progress in another cup competition on Wednesday when they face Worcester Raiders in the second round of the Worcestershire FA Senior Cup at Sixways.
