DAVE Reynolds bagged his seventh goal of the season in all competitions as Malvern Town cemented their spot at the top of the Hellenic League Premier table last weekend with a narrow 1-0 win over Corsham Town.
The striker was on hand to tap home from close range following Joe Bates' shot on goal in the 19th minute for what proved to be the winner.
Malvern had to hold on towards the end as Corsham pushed for a late leveller but the hosts clung on for a seventh league win in a row.
Their lead at the top remains two points from second-placed Cribbs, who do have a game in hand on the current league leaders.
At full-time, co-manager Lee Hooper expressed his delight at how his players dug in for such a crucial three points.
"The effort and application of the lads was tremendous," said co-manager, Lee Hooper.
"We won a lot of first and second balls against opponents who are a decent, direct and competitive outfit that are sure to be up there challenging amongst the leading pack once more this season.
"With a number of players missing, to also keep a clean sheet and win in the manner we did shows the strength in depth that we have here this season.
"Football is all about momentum and we have that at the moment. When you are on a winning streak you have to try and keep the run going for as long as possible.
"Seeing over 350 supporters at the game was fantastic. The support that we are receiving gives us all a massive boost and we thank you most sincerely. Keep spreading the word!"
