LOCAL rivals and fellow Premiership club Gloucester Rugby have become the latest to offer discounted tickets to Worcester Warriors' season ticket holders.
Gloucester have followed in the footsteps of London Irish in offering 50% for all Warriors season ticket holders for both league and cup matches at Kingsholm whilst their club are not playing.
Warriors were suspended from all rugby competitions on Monday by the RFU due to their financial crisis, which was swiftly followed by the club being placed into administration.
So with Worcester out of the game and supporters having no team to watch at weekends, the Cherry and Whites are hoping to welcome fans to their games.
In a statement on Gloucester's website, Chief Executive Officer Lance Bradley said; "First of all, on behalf of everyone at Gloucester Rugby, I want to say how sorry we all are to hear about the problems your club is going through. We know, as fans ourselves, what your club means to you.
"While we can’t help with you being able to watch Worcester Warriors at the moment, we can help with you being able to watch alternative top-flight rugby games.
"Don’t worry - we don’t expect you to suddenly switch your allegiance to Gloucester Rugby, and you’re welcome to wear your Worcester shirts (as many of you know, our own fans are famous for welcoming visiting supporters).
"Our clubs are rivals on the pitch, but not off it. When we see our neighbours going through a tough time it just feels like the right thing to welcome you to our ‘Holm. And, of course, we’re only 25 miles down the road from you."
