DUANE Darby has set his sights on returning Bromsgrove Rovers to the British Gas Business Premier Division after being handed the job on a permanent basis.
Darby was appointed in a caretaker capacity following the departure of Rod Brown in December but was unable to save the club from relegation.
Rovers will be playing their football in Division One Midlands next season but Darby is relishing the chance to put things right.
"I want to get them back up," he said. "I didn't want to leave it when we went down so I am delighted they have offered me the job.
"It's time for me to rebuild. We have had a terrible year, it's a case of me bringing my own squad in.
"I am hoping to keep to a smaller squad and stick to that. We don't want to keep getting players in and hopefully that squad will be good enough to get promoted."
A consortium of Bromsgrove Rovers supporters have called a meeting to discuss the club's future.
The group are looking at a possible buy-out of chairman Tom Herbert.
The meeting takes place on Thursday at the DDS&S Club in Stourbridge Road, Bromsgrove, at 7.30pm.
