LUKE Dalley returned figures of 5-65 but Pershore fell to a narrow three-wicket defeat against Oldswinford.

After winning the toss, Oldswinford skipper Wayne Brigdale asked Pershore to bat on a wicket that had been under water on Wednesday.

An opening stand of 85 between Joe Taylor (26) and David White laid the foundations for Pershore but after White's removal for 65, a mixture of self-inflicted dismissals saw the middle order collapse and the innings deteriorated.

Pershore lost eight wickets for the addition of just 54 runs with only Trevor Ridings grafting for a solid 20. In their reply, Oldswinford made a solid start with James Holloway and Dave Haywood (32) putting together an opening stand of 84.

After Holloway was dismissed for 55, the home side's middle order perished in much the same way as Pershore's had.

Although Pershore skipper Lee Wilks was limited to three front line bowlers, Pershore started to restrict the run rate.

At the fall of the seventh wicket, Oldswinford still required 10 runs from the last over but Tom Blunt saw them to victory with 16 runs from just ten balls.
