BATH chief executive Bob Calleja has underlined Wor-cester Warriors fans' concerns that Gloucester's Kingsholm ground is not suitable for the European Challenge Cup final.

Despite increasing concerns, thousands of fans may be forced to miss out on tickets for the final, organisers the European Rugby Cup (ERC), are standing by their decision to host the match at the 16,500-capacity Kingsholm.

Bath supremo Callejo said: "Supporters of both clubs are angry over the choice of Kings-holm because thousands of regular supporters of Bath and Worcester, who would want to be there with their families, won't be able to go.

"When we were originally consulted, we made it clear we considered Kingsholm too small to cope with the likely demand for tickets should we reach the final.

"Bringing together two of the Premiership's best-supported clubs with around 12,000 season-ticket holders between them, our concerns have been underlined.

"ERC could have put the match on in the Millennium Stadium, where the Heineken Cup final is being played, and given 30 or 40,000 Bath and Worcester supporters the cha-nce to see the final.

"That option was obviously discounted along with the Madejski Stadium in Reading which was a Challenge Cup final venue in the past which seats 22,500.

"Faced with the situation we have, we will try to distribute the tickets as fairly as we can, which means one per season ticket-holder to start with followed by a review to see where we can go from there.

"There will be a lot of very disappointed, angry and frustrated supporters, but our hands have been tied by the choice of venue and the limited number of tickets."
