TERRY Jenkins finished second bottom of the Whyte & Mackay Premier League Darts table after a heavy defeat by Raymond van Barneveld.

The Ledbury thrower, who lost to Phil Taylor in last year's final, slumped to an 8-1 loss against the Dutchman in Newcastle.

Van Barneveld's biggest win of the year set up a semi-final match against James Wade on Monday, May 26, in Cardiff.

Van Barneveld landed four maximums in the game, kicking off the contest with a 13-darter and never looked back after taking a 3-0 lead.

Jenkins won the fourth on double top with a 14-darter, but that was as good as it got for the world number five.

Van Barneveld took the next, and legs of 15, 14 and 15 darts took him to the brink of victory.

Jenkins had his chances in the next, but missed doubles cost him dear and the Dutchman sealed the win on double eight.

Jenkins said: "I've struggled in the last five or six weeks but nothing's gone right for me.

"I started okay but I had the stuffing knocked out of me in a few games and it affected me.

"I'll get back to the practice board now and hopefully I can get my form back for the major events coming up."
