THE University of Worcester hosts the finals of School Sport Partnership Basketball for Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

Year 10 pupils from North Bromsgrove High School, Blessed Edwards, The Chase and Wolverley High have all won their leagues.

They now get the chance to play off at the home of Worcester Wolves who have donated match tickets as prizes.

Shields will also be presented to the winning schools by the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Sports Partnership.

Vicci Webley, senior competition manager, said: "This is the first time we have organised school sport partnership finals.

"It is hoped we are able to build upon these within basketball and roll out to other sports that our schools are competing in.

"We are really grateful for the Wolves support as, by having the finals at such a prestigious venue, it will raise the profile of inter-school competition and hopefully encourage and engage more young people to take part."

Leagues have also been running for under 13s through to 16s throughout March and April.
