WORCESTER Warriors' co-owner Jason Whittingham insists he is hopeful that the sale of the club will be formally completed in the next 48 hours.
Whittingham released a statement before the Warriors' Premiership game with Exeter Chiefs suggesting the deal was imminent.
"We are at the final stages with the Heads of Terms and hope to make a formal announcement on them in the next 48 hours."
Whittingham also revealed that the interested party have asked the pair of Whittingham and fellow co-owner Colin Goldring to support the transition of the sale.
"The buyer has asked that we remain on in support and transition and details on that will be announced in due course. The buyer is absolutely committed to rugby at Sixways."
The statement also confirmed that the buyer is aware of the immediate cash requirements outstanding at the club, including payment of all staff, and is willing to inject some emergency funds into the club in order to see out the final weeks of September.
Warriors play in the Premiership Cup match at Gloucester on Wednesday before another home game with Newcastle Falcons on Saturday.
