MARK Danks insists he does not want to leave Worcester City but has been forced to consider his options.
Danks, who is out of contract at the end of the season, has asked for his name to be circulated around other clubs.
Manager Richard Dryden is keen to retain Danks' services for the 2008/09 campaign but the striker says he has yet to be offered new terms by the club.
The 24-year-old, who sat out Tuesday's 1-0 defeat at Work-ington to rest his knee, said: "I spoke to the manager on Thursday and I have yet to be offered a contract.
"I was quite happy with what the manager said. I have got a lot of respect for the manager.
"I have stated I would like to stay but that all depends on anything being offered.
"There's a week to go before the end of the season and I am still to be offered a contract.
"I feel like I have put out in the dark. I just wanted to sort myself out for next season with a club.
"If I have not been offered a contract, why should I not have my name circulated? I can't sign for a club that hasn't offered me a contract. I was quite happy to stay but what was I supposed to do?
"The club have allowed people to speak to me, there are clubs that have shown an interest."
He added: "I have enjoyed my time at Worcester and if last Saturday was my last game I look back with no regrets. Injuries might have gone against me but my goal record is still one in two.
"I don't want people thinking I have asked to leave. I want to state the fact I have got no problem with the manager, Carl Heeley or anybody at the club, but at the end of the day I have to do what is right for myself. I am just a bit disheartened by the last three months."
City remain 12th in Blue Square North after their defeat at Borough Park.
Dryden was frustrated by elements of his team's display but thought a point would have been a fair reflection.
He said: "I was disappointed. Again, due to conditions with the surface, it wasn't going to be a classic and I thought we more than deserved to get something out of the game.
"Sometimes you need to earn the right to go and play football. We started really well but I think we faded away until they scored and after they scored we stepped up again.
"That is a little bit disappointing because we had to go a goal down for the majority of people to come out of their comfort zone to have a go and that's what I have got to assess for next season."
