OMBERSLEY impressed with the bat in a pre-season friendly ahead of their first Birmingham League Division Two campaign.
The villagers, promoted last season, scored 238-3 off 40 overs at home to Worcestershire League Division One title hopefuls Worcester Nomads.
In damp, miserable conditions, the wicket was in superb condition and, as always, looked full of runs.
Ombersley openers Phil Burden and Joe Robinson soon departed but Duncan Catterall and Brett D'Oliveira had other ideas.
They batted sensibly to ensure a respectable score and then accelerated in some style.
Former Worcestershire player Catterall was in destructive form for his 123 not out, while young D'Oliveira showed maturity for an accomplished 80.
Nomads also enjoyed their time at the crease but finished well short of the home total on 175-9.
Ombersley play Bromsgrove on Saturday in a friendly.
