HARRIERS' manager Mark Yates bemoaned a series of errors which allowed Weymouth back into their Blue Square Premier clash.

The Aggborough side had looked on course to end a bad run of results against the Terras this season when Simon Russell fired them into a second-half lead.

Mistakes by goalkeeper Chris Mac-Kenzie and Harriers' defence allowed Chris Blackburn to turn the game on its head with a leveller and gave the home side the impetus to ease their relegation worries by securing a late winner by Stuart Douglas.

Earlier, Russell's strike on the hour mark should have been enough for the Aggborough side to make it eight games unbeaten in the Blue Square Premier but the relegation battlers roared back.

"I'm disappointed - it's a game we controlled and should have won," commented Yates.

"We scored and were on top for the next ten minutes but we got a little bit complacent.

"We didn't deal with a goal-kick and my keeper made a mistake by coming out and we conceded a corner.

"The marking was non-existent and that's disapointing to take because we've been on a good run and brought a lot of support with us," added Yates.

"We should have done better with a series of errors before the goal and it gave them a lift. They put us under a lot of pressure but we should have done better.

"We still played some great stuff and we weren't ruthless enough and it came back to haunt us."

With two games left, Yates wants his side to bounce back by beating Burton Albion at Aggborough tomorrow and Woking away from home next Saturday.

"Six points is what we're playing for and we don't want to make it easy for anybody," added the Harriers' manager.

Both sides seemed evenly matched in the first half and eager to score goals, despite being lashed by heavy wind and rain.

Russell saw a curling 20-yard effort go close in the eighth minute and Matthew Barnes-Homer shot wide in the 15th.

Iyseden Christie squandered Har-riers' best chance of the half when he pounced on an error by Trevor Challis, but the ball got stuck under his feet and Scott Doe made a well-timed challenge.

Harriers: MacKenzie 5; Hurren 7; Creighton 6; Russell 8; Penn 6; Ferrell 6 (Knights, 74); Bignot 6; Bennett 6; Barnes-Homer 6; Jeannin 6; Christie 7.
