WORCESTER City have an added incentive to do well in their last three games - to avoid their lowest league finish in eight years.

The St George's Lane side ended up 15th at the conclusion of a turbulent 1999/2000 season that saw John Barton replace Graham Allner as manager.

City are currently 13th in the Blue Square North table but Tamworth and Workington, who host Richard Dryden's team on Tuesday, are breathing down their necks having played the same number of games.

Tamworth are just two points behind, while Working-ton are a further three points back following Tuesday's 1-0 home defeat against Burs-cough.

City visit already-relegated Leigh RMI on Saturday and chairman Dave Boddy believes a three-point haul should be enough to safeguard against a repeat of eight years ago.

"We don't want to finish 15th," he said. "We were looking at relegation that season when Graham Allner left and John Barton came in and kept us in the division.

"It's not been dissimilar this year in as much as we have had a change of manager."
