FOUR members of Worcester Swimming Club have qualified for the National Biathlon championships in Macclesfield in May.

The regional qualifiers took place in Birmingham and the top six from each age group are put forward to the National Championships. A biathalon is a combination of a run and a swim with points awarded for each discipline.

Brothers Greg and Matt Everest both competed strongly with Matt winning his age group and Greg coming second.

Monica McCluskey and Tabitha Monkhouse also qualified, Monica in second and Tabitha in fifth, both girls having to compete at the lower end of their respective two-year age groups against much older girls.

The championships in May will see the Worcester members competing against the best in the country.
