JOE Rawle has warned his Malvern Town side not to take Rothwell Town for granted following their recent revival.

The Langland Stadium side are enjoying their best spell of the season, having avoided defeat in four of their last five league games and picking up six points in the process.

They have beaten Sutton Coldfield Town 2-1 and drawn 1-1 against Rushall Olympic, both play-off contenders, in their last two matches.

Rawle now wants his players to build on their excellent results in recent weeks against third-from-bottom Rothwell on Saturday (3pm).

He said: "We think we have got a realistic chance of picking up some points against Rothwell.

"We have done well against the top sides but we need to make sure we don't get sloppy and think we can win without putting the effort in.

"We need to make sure we are up for this as much as we were for the Rushall and Sutton games."

He added: "The first-half was poor last Saturday and Rushall deserved to be in the lead but we got at them in the second-half and deserved to get the equaliser.

"It just shows that after the Sutton game it wasn't a flash in the pan. We don't want the season to end now."

A point against their Northamptonshire visitors on Saturday would also be enough to ensure Malvern remain in British Gas Business Division One Midlands next season.

Basement boys Berkhamsted have a game in hand but are eight points adrift.

Rawle added: "We can just do our bit and that's it. If they don't get a result and we don't, it's all over anyway because they will run out of games.

"They have got to win them all to catch us and I don't see them doing it to be honest."

Left-back Tom Lacey and centre-half Liam Paddock are set to return to the team after missing the Rushall match through county commitments.
