GENIE Ward scored twice as Worcester City Women recorded a deserved 3-1 victory against arch-rivals Hereford Phoenix.
Ward struck either side of the break, including direct from a free-kick in the second-half, as Worcester defeated the West Midlands Division One South leaders at Bilford Road.
Annie Highway was also on target as Paul Hennessey's side came from behind to all but guarantee them second place in the table ahead of Sunday's final game at Birmingham Athletic (2pm).
Keeper Jodie Bennett also made some crucial second-half saves to ensure City emerged with three points.
Captain Vicky Andrews said: "I am so proud that we finally managed to beat Hereford because they are a good side. We fully deserved it.
"They have beaten us four times in the last two years and knocked us out of the county cup semi-final twice."
