WORCESTERSHIRE'S Old Wrecks indoor club came away with two silver medals when members competed in the World Indoor Championships Boston University's Agganis Arena.
The United Kingdom team was a smaller than usual, but with 60 competing it was still the largest of the overseas teams.
Old Wrecks had a reduced showing too and Evesham's Eddie Fletcher was there in a dual role as both the UK team coach and team manager.
Rachel Armstrong took a silver medal in the women's ages 30-39 race, finishing confidently in a time of seven minutes 24.5 seconds.
Hanley Swan's Anna Bailey produced a good time of 7:24.5 in the women's 55-59 race, inside her own world record, but she was still pipped into silver medal position by newcomer Sue Hooten, a United States national sculler.
Bailey was pleased with her time, however, and with the progress of her training, still returning to full fitness after another year of niggling injuries.
Alastair Harsant had a tussle in his race, the men's 30-39 lightweight division, finishing fifth in a time of 6:49.2.
Megan Brown has moved up an age category this year and faced some stiff opposition in her new group, the women's 40-49, and was disappointed with her time of 7:30.1 which saw her finish ninth.
Brian Garner suffered an asthma attack during his event, the men's 50-54 lightweight, but held on to finish ninth in time of 7:37.1.
In the men's 40-49 race, Kevin Anderson struggled from the start, almost giving up at several points, but encouragement from his Old wrecks club mates got him through to the end, where he finished 43rd in a disappointing time of 6:59.2.
