THREE rowers from Worcestershire will contest the Great Britain Rowing Senior Trials in Hazewinkel, Belgium, tomorrow.
It will be the most important test so far in determining who will represent Great Britain in the Olympics this summer.
Worcester's Matt Beechey races in the lightweight men's single scull among a tough field.
Evesham Rowing Club's Alex Gregory will compete in the men's single sculls event.
Former GB sculler Sarah Cowburn, of Worcester Rowing Club, races in a tough women's single sculls.
Meanwhile, Worcester's junior rowers had a busy 24 hours, launching out on the River Thames in the National Junior Sculling Head at Henley and the Schools' Head in London.
Pride of place went to Royal Grammar School Alice Ottley Worcester's under 18s boys' coxed four who were third in class at the 233-boat Schools' Head on the Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race stretch.
In their 17-boat class, the RGS crew came home to finish in 11 minutes 12 seconds, 20 seconds down on winners King's College Wimbledon.
The under 18s eight were 53rd in 10.42, just over a minute behind top crew Royal Shrewsbury, while the under 15s eight were 90th in 11.18.
King's School Worcester's junior girls were 118th in 11.55 for a ninth-placed finish out of 15 in the championship eights.
The second eight incurred a penalty and were 11th in the class in 12.49.
Their under 16s girls' four were 164th in 13.36, finishing sixth in class.
At Henley, King's under 14s girls' quadruple scull finished seventh out of 29 in class in the 308-boat National Junior Sculling Head.
They covered the upstream 3,000 metre course in 14.44, 54 seconds back on winners Stoke, with King's second boat 24th in 17.28.
The boys' under 16s quad were 14th out of 29 in their event in 12.13, pipping Hereford Cathedral School by half-a-second, with King's second boat 25th in 13.16.
The under 18s boys were 22nd in 12.05, just 0.2 seconds behind Bradford Grammar School, with the second boat 29th in 12.52.
King's under 15s boys were 19th in class in 13.09, seven seconds behind northerners Yarm, with the B' crew 32nd in 15.14.
The girls' under 15s were 23rd in 15.39, 1.5 behind Haberdashers' Monmouth.
