WORCESTER Nomads B' set a new record in the Worcestershire Cricket Board Indoor League.

Nomads' 167-4 in beating Colwall by 53 runs in the Monday division was the highest total in either the Sunday or Monday league and surpassed the 166 scored by Nomads A' last year.

Nomads got off to a poor start when opener Reg Dixon was run out with the score on 11.

However, it was the efforts of Andy Leach (42 not out) and Steve Bowman (64no) that saw Nomads wrack up their impressive total.

Colwall's reply was a comedy of errors as two of their top order batsmen were run out.

The innings was held together by opener Tom Coleman, Simon Harwood and Matt Morgan, who each had to retire after scoring 25, but they fell short of their target.

Barnards Green defeated The Fossils by four wickets, scoring 100-2 in reply to 99-6.

Tony Williams top-scored with 23 and Simon Hudson added 22 for the Fossils.

In reply, Tim Clarke and Phil Harris hit 45 off four overs to set Barnards Green on their way.

Tim Williams and Tim Clarke took the score to 67 and James Scullion and Mark Hooper saw Green home with seven balls to spare.

In the Sunday division, Worcester Nomads A' beat Worcester Nomads Academy by 43 runs.

Batting first, Nomads A' reached 151-4 before the academy replied with 108-5.

Derek Austin (27) and Malcolm Jones put on 40 for the first wicket and the total had progressed to 63 when Paul Gardner was run out for nine. Darren Lakin (26) and Dannie Rees (25) advanced the score to 97.

Austin (41no) returned to join Ben Schiffman and they had reached 148 when Sam Roberts stumped the latter off. Lakin was run out for 29 on his return as his side posted 151-4.

Nomads Academy's reply got off to a poor start when Jamie Smith was run out for five.

Casey Saunders was also run out for five before Chris Elsden (21) and Roberts edged the score to 34. Taylor and Roberts (34no) advanced the total to 93 but both retired and the Academy's response ended on 108-5.

Droitwich A' defeated Himbleton by five wickets after reaching 78-1 in reply to their opponents' 77-2.

John Critchlow and Sam Jenkins both departed early on for Himbleton and it needed Les Jenkins (26no) and Jamie Alford (25no) to rebuild the innings.

Droitwich swept to victory off 5.5 overs despite losing opener Jerome Connor.
