MALVERN face a key test to their Midlands Two West title ambitions when the league leaders travel to third-placed Walsall tomorrow (3pm).
The Spring Lane club are five points clear of second-placed Hereford, who are on the same number of points as Walsall.
Malvern edged their way through to the semi-finals of the North Midlands Cup last weekend with a 19-10 win over Bromsgrove but director of rugby Dave Robins was less than happy with the permformance.
"With Gareth Taylor out injured and Phil Rawle and Owen Jones not yet available, we struggled up front," he said.
"Bromsgrove's back row played a great spoiling game to ensure we didn't get much in the way of good ball to our backs.
"If Chris Smith hadn't been so dominant in the line-out, we could have been in real trouble.
"We have worked really hard in training this week to address these issues."
