AN improved display helped Worcester Men's Firsts end a run of poor results with a 3-2 victory at Olton and West Warwicks in the BodyKraft Midlands Premier Division.

Worcester started well with pressure to the hosts' back-four but once again fell a goal behind.

However, within a minute, Phil Howell latched onto a loose ball to level after good work by Chris Perry.

The remainder of the first-half was scrappy so Worcester moved Chris Adams into the centre of midfield and Jon Sprague to the right at the interval.

Worcester kept control of the ball and took the lead when Adams played in Sprague whose pass was turned in by Alex Kotlarzewski.

Ten minutes before time, Adams took a quick free-hit to Sprague and he squared for Perry to score the third goal.

Olton got one back with five minutes to go but Worcester held on for a well-deserved win.

The seconds beat North Stafford 2-1 to take over the leadership of the West Midlands Premier Division.

Worcester had an outstanding first-half and controlled the game, taking an early lead through James Brown's solo effort.

Nick Boot-Handford and Marcus Blane combined to create a second for the former mid-way through the half.

The second period saw North Stafford attack more but solid defensive play and creative attacking kept Worcester in front.

North Staffs scored a consolation goal but Worcester, especially man-of-the-match Steve Miles, remained solid.

Worcester Thirds lost 3-0 at top-of-the-table Cannock in the Midlands Premier Division but worked hard in defence.

A well-organised display restricted Cannock's chances and Simon Dorrell was outstanding on the right side of midfield. Chris Kendall and Rob Mackichan also showed quality but were unable to prevent the home side gaining a deserved win.

In the Midlands Premier Division, the fourths lost 3-0 at home to Sutton Coldfield.

They started the game well with good passing and movement but went a goal behind after sloppy defending.

Worcester hit back but were denied a goal by a dubious decision.

Sutton applied the pressure in the second period and forced two more goals.

Dave Hughes was the city side's man-of-the-match with a fine display of keeping.

Worcester Fifths left behind two defeats with a stunning 12-0 win over Old Silhillians in the West Midlands Premier.

They led 6-0 at half-time and increased the scoreline to record their biggest win in many seasons.

Andy Taylor (three), Simon Tinley (three), Adam Waide (two), Josh Kusch, Tom Coleman, Keith Mulcock and Tim Young all scored.

Josh Edge, Joe Senior, Coleman and Ben Glass all impressed.

The sixths went down 5-1 at Bournville Sevenths in South West Division One.

They started well but were let down by basic errors. Joe Drewitt scored the goal.

An even game finished 2-2 between Worcester Pippins Badgers and Bournville.

Bournville went ahead on 15 minutes but Worcester levelled 10 minutes later when Matt Ramsay converted a penalty corner.

The second-half was a ding-dong affair with play going from end-to-end.

Bourneville went ahead from a penalty corner but Worcester equalised again with 10 minutes left through James Bullock.

They had a goal disallowed when Ramsay roofed a penalty corner.

Ed Girling cleared off the line to give Worcester a well-earned draw.
