BROMYARD Town slipped to an unlucky 2-1 defeat at Pelsall Villa in the West Midlands League Premier Division.
Second-from-bottom Town dominated the second-half but had already conceded two sloppy goals in the first 20 minutes of the match.
Craig Malins and Wayne Lloyd tested the home keeper before the break and new signing Nick Butler saw his effort graze the crossbar in the second period.
In the 75th minute, a fine run by Tony McLean into the box saw him brought down for a penalty kick which Jon Hayward coolly converted to make it 2-1.
But Bromyard's cruel luck continued when a tremendous shot by Steve Hawkes hit the post.
