THE high flying Robins now have more to thank their defenders for after Steve Luckett and Joe Clarke grabbed the goals that earned Paul West's side a ninth successive victory as they beat Bedworth United 2-0.
Evesham also kept an eighth clean sheet in nine matches and boast the joint best defensive record in the division that was never threatened by a poor Bedwoth side.
The Robins weren't at their best - and didn't need to be - but they were grateful for Luckett's first goal of the season early in the second-half that calmed nerves.
Clarke's headed second goal midway through the half also came from a free-kick after which visiting defender Tom Browett was sent off after kicking Steve Lutz off the ball.
Michael Hayden came closest to adding to the tally but the young wing back was denied by a fine save from the Bedworth custodian.
Opposite number Nathan Vau-ghan only had one real moment of alarm when he spilled a cross on another afternoon when he was given splendid protection by his defence.
Worcester News reporter Mervyn Collins was called into action to run a line after referee Lance Blackwood pulled a muscle after 16 minutes.
