THE FA Cup replay between Worcester Raiders and Malvern Town will go ahead on Wednesday night at Sixways, despite the ongoing financial situation with rugby club Worcester Warriors.
The rugby club, which is also the home of football side Raiders, are currently dealing with a winding up petition issued by the HMRC over an unpaid tax bill in the region of £6m.
There are widespread reports and fears the club could enter administration this week and due to the ongoing situation, accounts are currently frozen at the club.
This could potentially cause some issues for the match on Wednesday but Raiders' chairman Steve Harris confirmed to the Worcester News that the game will go ahead as scheduled.
"I would like to say a big thank you to all the staff at Sixways who are helping us out on match day on Wednesday," said Harris.
"Under difficult circumstances, there commitment and loyalty to the club does not go unnoticed."
The game will be a cash only event and tickets will be available on the gate.
Club staff at Warriors will be working as volunteers at the game, as accounts at the rugby club are frozen.
Raiders and Malvern will battle it out to reach the first round of qualifying, where the winner will face Worksop Town away from home in the next round after the draw was made on Monday.
The initial match last Saturday saw the two sides play out a thrilling 3-3 draw, which included three penalties and a red card.
Malvern had took the lead in the first-half through striker Dave Reynolds but three unanswered goals from visitors Raiders, including two penalties, saw them take a 3-1 lead early in the second-half.
But goals from Joe Bates and James Febery, after Worcester's Syrus Warren-Paul had been sent-off, saw them force a replay.
"We will take them back to Sixways, we will have another big crowd and we are confident we can turn them over," said Raiders' manager Karl Gormley.
"The first game felt like a bit of a defeat to be honest, given the lead we had but I am so proud of the lads for that performance.
"Where we have come from in the last couple of years, I could not be prouder. To be disappointed with a draw at a club like Malvern, show's how far we have come."
