STOURPORT Swifts boss Neil Hunt wants to put the Simon Fitter saga to bed now that the player has left the club.

The midfielder contacted the Walshes Meadow chief last month after falling out with Evesham United boss Paul West.

Hunt wasted no time in signing the player only for Fitter to contact West to return to the British Gas Business League Division One Midlands leaders.

"One minute they are hitting out at each other and the next they have kissed and made up," Hunt said. "I don't like the way either side have gone about it, but I just want to put it behind me."

Tomorrow Hunt's side welcome play-off chasing Chesham United to the Meadow (3pm) with Swifts set to welcome back Lee Tompkins, Richard Colwell and Craig Webb from injury.

Swifts will be looking to get back on track against the Generals after their four-match unbeaten run came to an end against Barton Rovers last weekend when they went down 2-1 at Walshes Meadow.

"One minute we are defending really well, but not creating any chances, the next we look like we could score a hatful and concede just as many," Hunt said.

"I'm still figuring this league out. I am surprised at the lack of football that is played.

"Most teams favour 3-5-2 and lump the ball up front, while I prefer 4-4-2 and try and pass the ball down the wings.

"Chesham are going to be a tough side because they are up in the top six."
