EVESHAM United boss Paul West may not be publically speaking about winning the British Gas Business League Division One Midlands title but the facts speak for themselves.

Seven points clear at the summit, unbeaten in their last nine games and only one defeat in the past 22 all point in one direction - the Robins are flying towards the Premier Division.

But, as West, points out there are still 13 games to go and he is not getting carried away with it all.

"I don't want to start putting pressure on any of the players because that is when things can go wrong," he said.

"Don't get me wrong we are enjoying where we are and we will keep on enjoying our football, but all we are trying to do is improve on fifth from last year.

"We will just keep trying to win football matches and where that takes us we'll have to see.

"One for thing is sure though, there is still plenty of room for improvement."

Now that is not a statement tomorrow's visitors to St George's Lane, Bedworth United (3pm), would want to hear.

The Greenbacks crashed to a 4-1 defeat at the last team to beat Evesham, Bishop's Cle-eve, on Wednesday night, but West believes they can't be fooled by the Kayte Lane result.

"They are a better team than that, they beat Chasetown last weekend," manager West said. "They are just inconsistent so we have to make sure we get everything right."

Simon Fitter has rejoined Evesham after leaving for Stourport Swifts earlier this month, but he is ineligible until March 1. Steve Hands serves a one-match ban for picking up five bookings.
