BILL Morris, Gordon Maycroft and Pat hill took the top three places in round seven of Worcester's Perdiswell Golf Club mid-week winter league.

The 18-hole competition was won by Brian Cash with 41 points followed by Arthur Kupfer on 40 points with Clive Brown third on 36 after a countback against Ted Holmes.

The Club also held an AM-AM competition and the team of Mick Boylan, Brian Cash, Mike Williams and Collis Fisher won the day with a score of 127.

In second place after countback was the team of Brian Hodgetts, Val Williams, Colin Martin and Nathan Johnson with a score of 130 just keeping out the third- placed team of Steve Kupfer, S Wyres, Derek Misters and John Banner also on a score of 130, after countback.

The eighth round of the mid-week winter league was won by Arthur Pike with 38 points, second place went to John Davies on 37 and one point behind was Cliff Hayes.

Gordon Maycroft won the short course competition with 19 stableford points.

Round eight of the Saturday winter lea-gue was won by Andy Croy with a stableford score of 41 points. John Byrne was runner-up with 38.

The first three places in the ladies winter league went to Margaret Kupfer, Val Williams and Pat Hill and in the junior league to Sam Mealor, John Griffiths and Bethany Bradbury.

Perdiswell also held a tombstone competition and Croy again beat the field by completing 20 holes before running out of strokes. In second place was Brian Cash and Derek Walker was third.

The club's annual general meeting will take place on March 22.
