Worcestershire lost their fourth straight Royal London Cup match in a row on Wednesday as they were beaten by six wickets at Lancashire Lightning.
Kashif Ali continued his superb form with the bat in reaching another half century and Taylor Cornall impressed upon his promotion to opener as the Rapid totalled 249/9 from their 50 overs.
Lightning's Luke Wells and George Balderson capitalised on some loose deliveries during the powerplay, and then a century stand by Rob Jones, who ended unbeaten on 85, and George Bell helped Lancashire to clinch victory.
Cornall and Azhar Ali had looked in good touch early on, navigating the powerplay without the loss of a wicket before Azhar was caught for 27.
Gareth Roderick settled into a rhythm before a rather unfortunate dismissal saw him out for 30.
Cornall reached 58 before being bowled by Luke Wells and then Jake Libby (12) and Ed Barnard (5) came and went rather quickly.
Kashif Ali and Ben Cox put on 44 in seven overs and the former completed his half-century off 41 balls.
Wells picked up Cox (24) and Joe Leach (1) before Kashif’s fine effort ended on 61 in the final over.
Lancashire opted for an aggressive approach when they launched their reply, with Wells and Balderson hitting 62 in the initial ten over powerplay.
Finch made a breakthrough when Wells drove straight to leach at at 76-1 and then Libby had Balderson caught.
There was then a first success for Leach as Steven Croft (15) went for a drive and nicked through to Cox at 117-3.
But Jones and George Bell (35) then put together the decisive stand of 102 before Libby claimed Bell (35).
Jones went on to finish undefeated on 85 from 101 balls as victory was achieved by the Lightning with five overs to spare.
